I have 30 years of newspaper experience. I started my career as a sports editor for a twice-weekly in southwestern Minnesota. Within five years, I was the news editor for the Sioux Falls Argus Leader, the largest newspaper in South Dakota. From Sioux Falls, I worked for five years as a reporter for the Albuquerque Journal, five years as the city editor for the Record Searchlight in Redding, Calif., and then two years as the editor of The Union in Grass Valley, Calif. I returned in June 2010 to the South Dakota to work at the Rapid City Journal.
