Claim your profileI got hooked on travel when I was 19 and encountered the legendary Big Nambas tribe of Vanuatu. Wearing little more than a strategically employed red cloth, they opened my eyes to the what a weird and wonderful world it was out there and I’ve been travelling ever since. Thankfully, I’ve been able to translate that love of travel into a career – writing six-best selling travelogues, writing for various publications around the world, appearing on radio and TV as a travel expert and, since 2010, acting as Associate Web Editor for the UK’s leading travel magazine, Wanderlust. My areas of interest are emerging destinations, off-beat encounters and authentic local experiences. Highlights include: Leading the first Australian expedition around the Equator. Having six books published by Penguin Random House. A stint as the resident travel expert on Triple J, the national youth radio station in Australia. Contributing to the extraordinary growth of the wanderlust.co.uk website as Associate Web Editor. Producing and presenting the official podcast of the Antigua & Barbuda Tourism Authority, 'The Beach Is Just The Beginning.' Launching and presenting 'No Shitting in the Toilet', an offbeat travel podcast. Launching and editing a new online travel magazine, The Vagabond Imperative.
