Rio has been a journalist for 10 years, reporting from the intersection of politics, current affairs, and climate issues. A true multimedia producer, he handles TV and digital videos, radio broadcasts, and online articles. Previously Rio had worked with Voice of America, Pulitzer Center, BBC World Service, the Gecko Project, and many more, cultivating experiences in Jakarta, London, and Washington. He obtained an MA from Goldsmiths, University of London, where he studied the connection between society, tech, and capitalism. He also earned a diploma in Visual Journalism from Ateneo de Manila University where he practiced videography, photo essays, and critical visual literacy.
