Founder and Editor in Chief
My name is Michelle, I am the Founder and Editor in Chief of Rough Cut Rice Collective. Thank you for gaining interest in our community newsletter and we’re excited to be working with you on our newsletter. Rough Cut Rice Collective started because I too wanted a safe space as asian women in her adulthood who wanted a space to go to for advice and connecting with other women like me. Where I grew up there were not many people like me and it was hard to relate, talk about things that I experienced and make friends. Thank you for believing in our community and what we are doing! This document will outline all the requirements needed to know how to submit content to us and what we are looking for. Newsletters are not meant to be very long but we also want to make sure the information is digestible and easy to follow without information overload. Rough Cut Rice is the group chat we all actually need. No filters, no performance—just real-ass convos for Asian women in their 20s and 30s navigating the chaos of adulthood, family, and mental health. Join the monthly newsletter club for the girls who are still figuring it out We are: - Ditching the "Perfect Daughter" Script: To be the space where we stop performing and start talking honestly about the weight of family expectations, cultural guilt, and the chaos of our 20s and 30s. - Mental Health Without the Clinical BS: To normalize the "ugh" moments of adulthood with raw, relatable conversations that make therapy, boundaries, and self-care feel like a community effort rather than a solo chore. - A Monthly Pulse for the Girls: To build a digital home through our newsletter where every Asian woman feels seen, heard, and less alone in the specific, messy middle of navigating her identity.
