Claim your profileRuth Conniff is the Editor-in-chief of the Wisconsin Examiner, a nonpartisan nonprofit news site offering a fresh perspective on politics and policy in our state. The Examiner is part of The Newsroom, a network of state government news sites around the country. Conniff is the former Editor-in chief and current Editor-at-large of The Progressive magazine, where she has covered national politics and served as the voice of The Progressive on many TV and radio programs. Conniff is a regular on MSNBC. She also has appeared on CNN, Fox News Sunday, Good Morning America, and NPR. Conniff’s op-ed commentaries have appeared in The Washington Post, The New York Times, and the Los Angeles Times. Conniff became The Progressive’s Associate Editor in 1991, and Washington Editor in January 1997 and Editor in Chief in 2012. She became Editor At Large in August 2017 when she moved to Mexico for a year. She continues to write regularly for both the online and print magazine, and began her new role when she launched Wisconsin's largest state Capitol news bureau, The Wisconsin Examiner, in July 2019.
