As a Portfolio Manager, I actively manage a long-short portfolio of international equities to achieve excess returns through the use of concentrated positioning and leverage. The portfolio evaluates mid to large cap stocks using fundamental and technical analysis. In addition, I use a bottom up research approach focusing on earnings and sales growth to help narrow down potential opportunities. As a global fund manager, I have to balance currency exposures and hedges, while managing risk using asset allocation and market timing. Lastly, I Implement models to forecast future price moves to help determine a company's price objective. In addition, I assist on projects with the firm’s internal portfolio managers with stock analysis on both the long and short side. This analysis uses key fundamental metrics, like ROE and Pretax Margins, and technical metrics, like relative price action and moving averages. The final aspect of my analyzing responsibilities revolves around synthesizing company earnings reports paying particular attention to management’s future expectations and analyst concerns. Lastly, I produce and host a monthly webinar pertaining to investment education, oriented specifically towards fundamental and technical equity analysis. Webinar topics include: Porter’s Five Forces, fundamental catalysts of price appreciation, and general market analysis.
