I reported on politics and business in Asia during 1999-2013 for The Christian Science Monitor, TIME, The Economist, FORBES, The Wall Street Journal. I lived in Jakarta, Bangkok, and Beijing. All had their merits; Bangkok was the best. In 2013 I moved to Boston to join The Christian Science Monitor as a senior editor. In 2015 I moved into a writing position. My reporting beat is economic inequality and political polarization.
