Stephanie currently serves as an Anchor and Managing Editor at KGW in Portland, Oregon, where she is passionate about fostering an inclusive newsroom environment. She anchors each weekday, hosts a weekly public affairs show, “Straight Talk”, coaches on-air talent and helps lead editorial decisions. Prior to joining KGW, she spent four years as a anchor at Fox 12 Oregon, where she anchored multiple hours of news each weekday, along with special reporting and field anchoring.Stephanie's career has taken her to several markets across the country, including Charlotte, NC, Eugene, OR, and Waco, TX. Her first official television news job was as a general assignment reporter in Billings, MT, in 2008. She thrives in the fast-paced energy of a newsroom, and she is committed to producing work that can make a positive impact on her community.Born in Western New York (Go Bills!), Stephanie was raised in Southern California. She discovered her love for journalism as an intern at KOCE, the local PBS affiliate in Orange County. From there, she attended Chapman University, graduating from the Dodge College of Film and Television. During her time at Chapman, she interned and occasionally reported at three stations in the Los Angeles market, including KCBS and KCAL.What Stephanie loves most about journalism is the opportunity to highlight issues that matter to the community. Throughout her career, she has been fortunate to share incredible stories, with one of her most memorable being the Big Sky Honor Flight, which took nearly 100 World War II veterans from Billings to Washington, D.C., to visit their memorial.Stephanie is also passionate about health and medical reporting. Her interest in this area led her to pursue post-baccalaureate education in physical and social sciences, and she even spent a summer as a neuroscience research assistant at Cal Poly Pomona. Additionally, Stephanie has worked as an Education Manager, advocating for victims of domestic and sexual violence.Outside of work, Stephanie enjoys the outdoors, live music, great food, and new adventures. She has volunteered as a mentor with organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters and the YWCA, and served as a medical counselor at Texas Lions Camp.
