Claim your profileI have spent the last bunch of years of my life eating, drinking, talking, and writing. Not a bad gig. As the lead editor for food coverage in Mpls.St.Paul Magazine, my goal has been to serve two audiences: the readers who seek out the tasty intel that drives a well-fed life in Minnesota, and the food-drink-hospitality industry that needs light to grow. The trick is creating relevant content that inspires, educates, and advocates while staying credible and authentic. In my role as Executive Editor, I'm thrilled to bring a multi-platformed approach to storytelling. There's valuable and tactile beauty to print, and the ever-evolving digital world just gives us more ways to reach more hearts. As a radio/podcast human, I get to stretch and connect to the public in a more direct way. Home cooking, nutrition, food trends, food world gossip, whiskey, Instant Pot madness, travel eating, it's all fair game for a chat on Weekly Dish.Side hustles have included writing for Delta Sky Magazine, Twin Cities Business, BettyCrocker.com, TastingTable.com, and Cook for America Magazine among other national publications. Broadcast has brought regular appearances on local television programs such as Twin Cities Live, and a weekly food segment on Fox9 Good Day. I have also appeared as a food expert on national programming from the Cooking Channel, Food Network, Magnolia Network, MSNBC, and the NBC Today show, where I was honored to be the guide for Harry Smith's day at the MN State Fair.In my former life, on the industry side, I facilitated over 50 restaurant openings for various companies, created manager training systems, ran strategic planning retreats, and really, ate a lot of oysters.
