I'm a Dallas based writer, journalist, publisher, and nonprofit leader. I currently work as the Special Investigative Correspondent at the Texas Observer and a Columnist at the Barbed Wire. My reporting has been featured in Rolling Stone, The Daily Beast, WIRED, Nieman Lab, The Daily Dot, Dallas Observer, Dallas Weekly, and more. I am also the founding publisher & editor of Protean Magazine, a distributed nonprofit media collective which produces an online literary journal and annual print magazines. I also serve on the nonprofit boards of Apprentice Creative Space, Write Here DFW, and The Retrograde. I'm particularly interested in work that promotes equity, justice, and the leveling of hierarchy. Prior to journalism, my career focused on strategy, program design/implementation, and new technology adoption. I worked at Google, Deloitte Consulting and startups, and as an independent consultant.
