Claim your profile: tara.cassidy@sca.com.auI’m currently employed as the State News Editor for Southern Cross Austereo based in Brisbane, overseeing its journalists across the state, however for the most part of 2024 I was seconded to LiSTNR Crime as an Investigative Journalist to work on a new true crime audio documentary called Crime In Focus: Killer Charm. Earlier this year I was also selected as an investigative journalism mentee in the 2024 Walkley Mentor Program.Prior to my role with SCA I worked as a Multiplatform Reporter for ABC News for nearly five years on the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and in Mackay, covering everything from crime, court and politics to sport, business and social justice issues. I’ve also worked as a print/ digital Journalist for News Corp’s Mackay Daily Mercury, casually for Nine News Mackay and as a TV Reporter for WIN News Shepparton.During my studies I gained years of industry experience as an intern at various media organisations across Brisbane and regional Queensland, including Seven News, the Courier Mail, Queensland Police Media and the Gatton, Lockyer Valley Star. From my many internships through to my latest State News Editor role, my overall media experience spans over a decade.
