Every night growing up, Terry Stackhouse would go to bed with a radio beside him. Without it, he couldn’t sleep. It was tuned in to an AM radio station carrying the audio of news broadcasts from a local TV station. As a little kid, Terry found comfort in knowing there was a group of people, who were also awake, keeping an eye on the world. He felt like the anchors and reporters were speaking directly to him. As an anchor and reporter with Spectrum News, Terry aims to share stories that might help someone feel like they’re not alone. Terry developed a passion for storytelling as a teenager while covering community events for the public access station in his hometown of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. Terry attended Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts and graduated in 2012. During his time there in interned with New England Cable News and the Boston Herald. Prior to working in Albany, Terry worked at WABI TV5, the CBS affiliate in Bangor Maine. He reported on issues ranging from Maine’s opiate addiction crisis to high rates of cancer in firefighters. He also anchored the weeknight editions of the 10 and 11 pm newscasts. He even had the chance to interview Bangor resident Stephen King. Terry joined the Spectrum News team in June of 2016, working out of the Albany newsroom. You can see him anchoring on weekends and reporting on weekdays. Terry also has a weekly segment called Business Beat, highlighting interesting things happening in the Capital Region business community. Terry lives in Clifton Park with his wife Courtney, his young daughter Finley, and dog Belle.
