Hi, I am a writer/reporter reaching out on behalf of TheSpruce.com to get expert input on a piece I am writing about whether a pop-up or a lift rod drain is better for preventing clogs. Please provide answers to the following questions, as well as listing your professional credentials and the type of accreditation you prefer. What is a pop-up drain? What is a lift rod drain? Which is better for preventing clogs between a pop-up vs lift rod drain? Is one type more commonly found in older homes than the other type? Is it easy to replace either a pop-up or a lift rod drain? How much does the type of sink drain matter for clog prevention and what type of drain do you prefer for sinks between a pop-up vs lift rod?

Hi, I am a writer/reporter reaching out on behalf of TheSpruce.com to get expert input on a piece I am writing about if you can keep your bedroom cool using a damp towel in front of a window. Please provide answers to the following questions, as well as listing your professional credentials and the type of accreditation you prefer. Can you keep your bedroom cool at night by hanging a damp towel in front of the window? How big does the towel need to be? What temperature should the water be when you first wet the towel? (ie. ice water?) Is there a temperature at which this method does not work or the amount it works is so minimal that it is barely felt? Does there ever come a time duration (like 10 or so hours) when this method is no longer effective? Is there a temperature where it's dangerous/not advisable to sleep without AC to keep the room cool?
