Writer and editor with 16+ years experience in online publishing, media, and SEO. Columbia Non-Fiction MFA alum, former comedian/TV presenter, current podcaster.Founded FilmDrunk, an irreverent movie blog, in 2007, while getting my MFA in non-fiction from Columbia. FilmDrunk was acquired by Uproxx in 2009, where I've worked full-time ever since, currently as the Senior Film & Culture Editor. That means I write movie reviews, profiles, interviews, essays, and profiles, as well as features on travel, food, and drink (my travel writing, food challenges, and Top Chef rankings are especially popular). Helped turn Uproxx from parent company with no homepage into a digital media company with 26 million unique visitors monthly (I was the second hire and currently the most senior Uproxx employee). I've also written for GQ, The Ringer, Maxim, The Portland Mercury, The East Bay Express, and a few others. Currently exploring other opportunities, preferably a full-time staff position as a writer or editor, but also freelance and contract work.
