As president of Emmerich Newspapers I have run this company of 300 employees profitably for over 30 years wearing many hats. I also serve as the financial controller, supervising and managed 15 accountants and interacting with auditors and bankers. I have managed the modernization and automation of three printing plants, bringing them from manually-intensive sites to fully modern plants using optics and computerized systems. I have been the lead designer and deveoper of a Drupal based local news and social media platform used by a million people per month. I have written a weekly column and won dozens of state an national awards for investigative reporting. I have served as the human resources manager hiring and firing dozens or personnel. I have served as publisher of the Northside Sun, managing a weekly newspaper. I have sold advertising and managed a sales force of dozens, designing incentive-based compensation plans.
